2023 October: Wizard Academy Reunion – How to Save Your Soul with Art

How to Save Your Soul with Art

Wizard Academy is a home and retreat for Entrepreneurs on the front edge carving out territory in the land of possibilities. That’s who built us, that’s where we thrive.

But human beings are creative creatures. We’re storytellers, dreamers, and artists. The wind-swept frontier can cause you to lose sight of the things that truly fulfill you. And that loss can make you a worse entrepreneur. Because all entrepreneurs need their creativity to survive a constantly shifting landscape.

This year, the Wizard Academy Reunion is a reminder. A siren song to the creative parts of our soul.

It begins with a gathering at the Tower with Chancellor Daniel Whittington to set the stage for the rest of the day and welcome everyone home.

The afternoon will be spent in teams themed around a set of 4 Academy Artistic Icons visiting 4 different artists set up around campus. You’ll hear their stories and learn about the impact of art on their lives and the lives of those around them. You’ll see and experience, ask questions, and discuss it all with your fellow adventurers.

Of course, you’ll do it all with a glass of wine, should you so choose.

In the evening before dinner, we gather at the Tower to hear Pegeen Reilly, Academy Board Member, Wizard Academy Instructor, and all around amazing human, give a talk called “Open Your Mind to Leading Creatively.”

In Pegeen’s words, “Innovation is often a reaction to market pressure or changes, a need to compete. Art, by contrast, comes out of an unstoppable need to create, to build. What if you could learn to innovate not from fear of competition but from the sheer joy of creation?“.

After the talk, we’ll send you down to Tuscan Hall to choose your dinner from a choice of food trucks, and the final event of the evening is a full rock concert at Tuscan Hall with Daniel Whittington’s old band, Rhodes (the ones that played with Aerosmith). (video clip below)

We can’t wait to see you here!
